some halloween candy please… Oct 13, 2009by amandaAdd Comment

So sometimes you get good candy, like 3 musketeers and butterfingers and other times you get bad candy like old licorice and tiny lollipops. Yea, I’m 21, so I won’t be trick or treating, but I do wish I was!! Anyway, I figured this is what we college kids look like walking around Clifton heights from party to party. Halloween is an excuse to dress sexy, whether it’s flattering or not, and I think we should all go for it!

This drawing is mainly a result of my NEED, absolute need, to get back into drawing. This took about 1.5 hours and I think I could devote that kind of time to a quick sketch or two just to keep me in practice. A Disney animator came to speak at DAAP today, and I just about died when he was explaining his job and the work of his colleagues. They draw everyday and even devote certain days to drawing at the zoo!! All I can say is my dream job exists within the untouchable godliness of Disney Visual Development and all I can think about is how I need to get my ass moving if I even want to hope to imagine having a job there. So here’s my quick release. I wanted to go for a more character heavy style, not my typical skinny/pretty girl (although it’s kinda close to it). Anyway, it was done in the spirit of Halloween because fall is abound and I love love love this season and the mystery and childhood nostalgia I associate with candy corn, pumpkin spice, falling leaves, and the crisp breeze :)
