rain for food. Oct 8, 2009by amandaAdd Comment

So, as Rachel pointed out and as I soon came to discover in my recent poetry class when this poem was analyzed – I can’t seem to take my mind off of food. Ever. I wanted to write a poem about rain…but sadly it came to be more about food, I think. Haha. Anyway, I like the poem a lot, rain is delicious, and I wanted to write about that so here it is!

Rain

Juicy azure
pours down pounds
into
cracks of stony walks.

Fruity showers
gloss silk skin
in dew
like lime-cherry mist.

Delicious clouds
squeeze streams from
thunder
orchards to brown soil.

The ripe blue dawn
bloats clear drops,
wet sweets
fall from paradise.

Celestial rain
hits the tongue,
at last,
melt into puddles.
