school is over! Christmas is coming! NY is less than a month away! Dec 10, 2008by amandaAdd Comment

DAAP is over for this fall. I have been released, freed! I have a few projects that I will post separately as this week goes on. My major motion piece needs some nit picky improvements, but other than that it was successful! My class even voted it as the piece with Best Visual Design :) So lets just say the quarter ended very well even though I was up until 5am rendering the thing. I do still have to revise my fiction story by Thursday, but that is a non-stressful assignment. I will post it when I’m finished because I actually think it’s a neat story, especially for those of you who like the fantasy genre or fantastic fiction.

Above I have posted one of my many projects. It’s a logo animation done for Ideation class. We were assigned to use 3d combined with aftereffects to animate the logo of a fictional company. I decided to make up a tattoo parlour and this is the result after working on a couple of storyboards and variations of the logo itself. This final piece uses a sequence of cuts to show the detail and flow of tattoos. (p.s. I don’t have a tattoo, I just like them :p )

The DAAP show is today, parents and friends are coming to see our gigantic slide show of work. Everyone’s motion piece turned out so well and I can’t wait to see them all again and check out the work other majors have been doing.

Christmas is fast approaching (I haven’t bought any gifts yet…yikes!!) and that also means moving to New York is right around the corner. This idea excites me yet also makes me want to savor every moment of this season with my family, friends and boyfriend :) I think I have an apartment set in NY, not positive yet, but it’s a place with two other girls (who happen to be dancers…awesome!) and its located on the East Side, super close to work and also part of a nice apartment complex/community. I really hope it works out for me and my roommate!
