This past week I participated in the Frog Design Workshop hosted at DAAP. We were assigned to do research then develop and design a mobile service for Cincinnati. All in just three days!!! It was intense but the experience was awesome. I worked with a team of five people including some senior digital designers and one industrial designer. The interdisciplinary dynamics of our team made the design process interesting and beneficial. Not only did I get to work with people outside of my major and class, but I also learned a lot about my city. We took a bus down to Over-the-Rhine and for the first time I realized how much effort and success is coming from the revitalization effort. Since a lot of people, particularly ones in the suburbs, are unaware of all the businesses and events happening downtown, we decided to create a mobile service that would increase their awareness and keep them downtown, contributing to the heart of Cincinnati.

I was excused from all of my design studios because this of workshop, but unfortunately my homework has piled up on me, so I need to get working! 3d perfume bottles, HDR lighting, storyboarding, reading, fiction workshopping, and wrapping up the music for my dandelion animation. I wish I could write music, but sadly I can only sing, read and edit it :p Becase of that, I think I may use a track from Amelie to go with my animation and make sure to note that its only for school purposes (I might play around with it in garage band to see what new sounds I can get, but because of the time restraint it will probably remain untouched for now). Above is the concept for my next motion project, this one is for a studio class and I can’t wait to get started. I’ll try to keep up with posting storyboards and the rest of my process.
