Below is a 3d rendering of a dots box from Cinema 4d. We learned uvw mapping to apply a 2d texture to a rectangle. I was impressed with how realistic it ended up looking :p
In motion class we all have come up with our stories for our videos and are now ideating about style and planning our production schedule. My story is going to be about stars falling from the sky, leo the lion, and a girl…that’s all I have to say for now. Maybe I will post my written synopsis after it’s approved. I’m going to write it as an exercise in my fiction class too, just so I can get a better understanding of my characters and the meaning behind all of their actions. This class is great not only because I get to illustrate and animate another motion piece, but because it correlates with the Digital Seminar class that is teaching us all about movies and the techniques of Hollywood and non-Hollywood films. I’m loving it!
In Digital Design I will be redesigning Findlay’s website. Findlay is a historical farmer’s market in downtown Cincinnati, and if you visit their site, you can see that although they have a nice logo, the site’s in dire need of a redesign. The navigation is a mess!
Anyway I have to apply for co-op by October 21st, so I can guarantee that my dandelion animation will be finished by then! I’ve been halted from working on it for a little while, but now that I’m more into the rhythm of classes, I think I’ll have more time to wrap it up. Also, by that date, my portfolio site will no longer look wacky in Internet Explorer!
mmm…so realistic I crave dots!
