the demon windstorm | powerless Sep 15, 2008by amandaAdd Comment

I’ve been working, drawing, coloring and missing hours of sleep in order to animate this girl and her doggie which is only the first half of the animation….sigh. I think I’ve finished with her though, and have come out with a nice sketchy, grungy style of movement. I want the final video to be a rich, textural experience, so don’t expect super clean animations, but they still look pretty good for a first timer :)

I would be onto the second half of my project except for doomsday yesterday. We were attacked by evil winds and my power was out from noon to 10 at night, which is actually not bad. Some people are expected to be without power for a few days. Over 700,000 houses without electricity…ridiculous! So because of this, I lacked the power for my computer needed to get anything done. An entire Sunday ruined, except for the fun time I had outside. I probably should have stayed safe indoors with trees falling and roof shingles flying everywhere, but it was too fun to fall back and have the wind catch you and hold you up. Anyways, I didn’t stay out in the deadly winds too long, and I ended up heading to my boyfriend’s house. The only one with power in the entire Clifton area…that was pretty lucky and allowed me to finish coloring the girl’s hair for my animation.
