SPARKLES & SPICE

Bonjour! I'm a foodie artist located in San Francisco. I savor the small pleasures in life, mainly delectable noms. I love slowing down to take notice of detail, delighting in what is often easy to rush habitually through. I live Mindfully.

Yesterday was a long day, but a very good one. For work I went to OMS Photography for the Home Made Simple November photo shoot. It makes me want the autumn season to hurry up and get here so I can eat soup and wear sweaters! Anyway, this photo shoot was an even better experience than the last one. Since I’ve been at Barefoot a while and have become better acquainted with how things work and all of the people, I was a little more helpful at OMS. I contributed to the set ups for the photos and gave my opinion about the shots. I was excited that I could be useful and that my comments were taken into consideration :) Not to mention I got to taste all of the delicious food we were shooting. mmm.

After getting off work a little early, I had time to go the the Bodies Exhibit at Union Terminal with my Nana and Mom. It was amazing…I’ve never come out of an exhibit feeling so educated about the topic being presented. All of the displays of the muscles, nerves, bones, and organs, cut open and labeled, really made me appreciate my body. It was hard to look at all of the bodies and accept them as real. They looked so fake from going through the plastination process, but yet at the same time I knew I was looking at something that used to live. Seeing the fetus section was especially amazing…once again I was brought to really appreciate the miracle of our bodies. Despite all the controversy about the cadavers used in the exhibit, there is no doubt that it is worth seeing for both educational purposes and as inspiration to take better care of ourselves.
