cca stable’s website Jul 17, 2008by amandaAdd Comment

Not having homework leaves my mind free to think of way too many projects that I would like to do this summer…redesign my portfolio, make a wordpress theme, design a site for a stable, make a motion piece…but in order to actually get something accomplished instead of just thinking of ideas all day, I’ve been focusing on developing a site for the horse stable I’ve been riding at since I was ten. I’m making a site for them in exchange for paying for riding lessons. I couldn’t think of a better deal, free riding and practice in web design!

Despite having fun with designing a horse-themed site, it’s been kind of hard to decide how to handle the stable’s Irish association. All the free Celtic fonts are pretty clunky and no fun to work with so I went in a different direction while still trying to keep an Irish feel along with the stable’s colors of blue and black.Below is my latest design, but now that my boyfriend linked me to this great site about making your own wordpress theme, I wonder if I should go that route in order to make it easy for the barn manager to update the site without my help. I want to get started on attempting a theme tonight, but I’ll be going to a comedy club with some friends! Anyway, I’ll be getting a jump on it this weekend for sure, especially since they bought their domain about 6 months ago and haven’t had any content on it! yikes!
